The Albatros will return in 2026!

After a breathtaking 2024 year – in which we hosted men’s and women’s golf at 2024 Paris Olympic Games and The FedEx Open de France, the mythical Albatros closed down in October 2024. Tremendous works are being carried out close to the course to build the route of the new Greater Paris Underground, a monumental national development project. Likewise, the Academy driving range and the Elite short game area of the French Golf Federation Performance Centre had to close for 18 months.

A new chapter is being written in Le Golf National history. By 2030, The 2018 Ryder Cup venue will be connected to Paris Orly airport in less than 25 minutes and Versailles in about 10 minutes. Such exciting news for all golf fans coming from the different parts of France and overseas who will be able to join the Parisian Venue easily, getting onto the train.

Foremost, this offers Le Golf National a one-of-a-kind opportunity to renovate the course to elevate players’ experience and reinforce its will to embrace sustainable development.

Philippe Pilato – General Manager at Le Golf National, said: “We have a unique chance to prepare the Albatros to face environmental challenges. We will run a large programme of turf conversion on our greens, tees and fairways to carry on reducing our water consumption, as part of our overall water management strategy. We will besides refurbish the lake edges of Holes 2, 15 and 18. One of the keystones of the project: Holes 4, 5 and 6 will be re-designed to spice up players’ round. Furthermore, we are building brand-new maintenance facilities to offer the best possible working conditions to our greenkeeping teams who have been doing such an incredible job for the past 7 years. Other novelties will come in 2027, with the opening of a brand-new Pitch and Putt, a new concept for our Academy, etc.
2026 will be a new milestone for Le Golf National. We have got many projects to enhance all parts of our customers’ experience and the onsite Novotel Saint Quentin en Yvelines will be part of it! They will refurbish the hotel, especially the rooms, welcome reception, lobby and clubhouse to deliver a world-class experience. We cannot wait to welcome our guests from France and abroad. We will get new facilities to better serve them.”

So far, the course is scheduled to reopen on July 1st 2026. The accurate date will be unveiled at the end of 2025.
