Located at the heart of an urbanized area, Le Golf National is developing an approach aimed at reconciling sporting performance, sustainable management, and biodiversity conservation.
The objective is to turn the site into a haven for wildlife and flora while maintaining local ecological connectivity.
Awarded a Silver Label since 2017 under the 'Golf for Biodiversity' program, the site is now aiming for the Gold label, supported by scientific monitoring and the continuous improvment of management practices.
Since 2016, Le Golf National has been working with naturalist organizations to better understanding its ecosystem and adapt its practices.
Biodiversity surveys have revealed remarkable ecological richness despite the highly urbanized surroundings with protected species recorded including Grass Vetchling (Lathyrus nisolia) and Narrow-leaved Bird's-foot Trefoil (Lotus angustissimus). These observations are carried out in collaboration with partners including the French National Museum of Natural History and as part of environmental measures associated with metro construction works.
The site is gradually transitioning towards more ecological management through habitat diversification, the creation of refuge areas, and the monitoring of sensitive species.
